Gujarat’s PPP project in Leopard rescue and rehabilitation

The Gujarat forest department has transferred 12 leopards to a private rescue and Rehabilitation centre in Jamnagar. These leopards were captured from the wild after they encountered conflicts with humans. The project is first of its kind in the state. Project is implemented under public private partnership between the Reliance Industries Limited and the state government.

China’s proposed Hydropower project in Brahmaputra, Tibet

Under the 14th five-year plan that is to be implemented from 2021, China has proposed hydro power project on Brahmaputra river in Tibet. The project has been proposed by the Central Committee of the ruling Communist Party of China. The Committee prepared the fourteenth five-year plan, 2021 to 2025 and the long-term goals through 2035 of China.

Dry Swab Direct RT-PCR Test Method

The Dry Swab Direct RT-PCR testing method was recently approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research to test the covid-19 virus. The test was developed by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB) by making a simple variation to the standard RT-PCR method.

Iran’s Strategic Measures for the Removal of Sanctions: Highlights

The Iranian Parliament has recently passed a bill called the “Strategic Measures for the Removal of Sanctions”. The bill aims to boost the nuclear activity of Iran in the wake of killing of the Iranian nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh. He was the head of the Iranian defence ministry innovation centre. He was assassinated on November 27, 2020 during a Gunman attack in the town of Absard in Tehran region.

The Hayabusa2 spacecraft of Japan is nearing the earth after a yearlong journey from asteroid Ryugu. The asteroid is located at a distance of about 300 million kilometres from the Earth. The spacecraft is to reach the earth in Southern Australia on December 6, 2020 carrying precious samples from the asteroid .

Sahakar Pragya Programme: Key Facts

Mission COVID Suraksha launched

The Government of India recently launched Mission COVID Suraksha to accelerate development of vaccine in the country. It will ensure that the vaccines being developed are brought closer to the market. The mission was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on November 12, 2020 as a part of 12 announcements made under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan 3.0.
