Highlights of the India-OPEC Energy Dialogue

The fourth high level meeting of India-OPEC Energy Dialogue was held virtually on November 5, 2020. From India side, the dialogue was represented by the Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The dialogue is held since 2015.

RBI announced co-lending scheme for banks, NBFCs for priority sector

The Reserve Bank of India on announced a Co-Lending Model (CLM) scheme on November 5, 2020. Under the Co-Lending Model, banks and Non Banking Financial Company (NBFC) can provide loans to the priority sector borrowers based on a prior agreement.

Highlights of First India and Nordic-Baltic Conclave

The first India-Nordic-Baltic Conclave was held virtually on November 5, 2020. The conclave was represented by External Affairs Minister S Jai Shankar from Indian Side.

Kartarpur Gurudwara Issue

Pakistan government decided to transfer the management and administrative control of the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur from a Sikh body to a trust under the Evacuee Trust Property Board which is a non-Sikh body. The Gurudwara was managed by Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (PSGPC) until now. This decision of Pakistan was highly criticized by India. India has termed the move against the spirit of the Kartarpur Corridor.  However, PSGPC have claimed that there is no change in the administration of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.

PM Modi and Italian PM to hold Bilateral Summit.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will held a virtual bilateral summit with his Italian counterpart, Giuseppe Conte on November 6, 2020. During the virtual summit,  both the leaders would sign 15 pacts in the field of trade, energy, ship building and culture.

India hosts 5th Joint Working Group on Coal between India and Indonesia.

The India-Indonesia fifth joint working group on coal was held on November 5, 2020. The meeting was held virtually.

Bangladesh signs MoU with Serum Institute of India (SII) for COVID-19 Vaccine.

The Government of Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Serum Institute of India on November 5, 2020. The MoU has been signed for the priority delivery of 3 crore COVID-19 vaccine called COVISHIELD doses to Bangladesh.  The COVISHIELD Vaccines has been developed by AstraZeneca and University of Oxford.  As per the MoU, initially 1.5 crore people will be vaccinated and each person would be given two doses.

Tripura issues warning against hunting of Amur Falcons

As the winter has onset, migratory birds including the Amur falcons are being observed around the lakes and water bodies in massive numbers. But, despite several restrictions, many birds are poached yearly. In that line, the State of Tripura has issued warning against the hunting of Amur Falcons.

Interpol created cybercrime-related communication services

The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has created two secure and flexible services in order to facilitate cybercrime related communication to the law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders. The creation of services would ensure more effective and coordinated action on the basis of timely intelligence.
